Los Rosales, the Mexican restaurant at the corner of Blue Hole and Bell roads, has closed. After changing lands in late 2007 and being reinvented with a healthy, fresh menu in summer 2008, the restaurant--much beloved by Bites readers--closed Aug. 16. A letter from owner Carlos Moncayo cited unfavorable economic conditions.

They had the best ceviche and that salad with cactus was so refreshing!! I know I would have gone there much more if they were closer into town
I agree with Blake-Would love to see them closer in town and know a lot of folks who loved the place but couldn't get there often enough. They really shined at the Iron Fork event this spring--folks were raving about their tastings. Very fresh and different. I hope they reopen somewhere.
Ugh! Hands-down the best Mexican restaurant in town (not counting various hole-in-the-wall taquerías).
I am so sad. I loved this place. I hope they reopen in a better location.
First Rosarios and now Los Rosales. Where do I go now?
Those who know me know that I am inconsolable. I, too hope Carlos finds a better location--East or West Nashville--and re-opens soon. Please not Franklin, though. That's worse than getting to Antioch!
I was there about 6 p.m. on a Sunday night in mid-July and was surprised that only one other table was seated. The level of cooking was superb -- I shot a photo of the food and never could find an occasion to blog about it. Perhaps high-end Mexican food isn't what the Bell Road demographic is looking for. I'm hoping, too, for a better location next time.
