The Feed Bag for August 6

Posted By on Thu, Aug 6, 2009 at 9:57 AM

Forks up, food lovers. Starting more or less today, and continuing more or less each Thursday, Feed Bag will be your round up of food-oriented or food-skewed, or even foodishly promising, events.

This new and improved approach means you can find it all in one place, more or less. And for those with food information to share, it means you know when to send it: by Wednesday morning, more or less.*

  • Feed Bag this week turns its muzzle to kateelayne, the purveyor of Carefree Treats.

This custom bakery in West Nashville (which doesn't have a retail storefront) has been turning out allergen free, vegan, kosher treats for one year now. In honor of its anniversary, kateelayne is offering 25 percent discount off of orders. That could be an order of seasonal-shaped iced sugar cookies, their most popular item, or it could be a dozen mini cupcakes for a party, or a pack of kosher cinnamon rolls for the breakfast meeting. Chat with Layne or place your order at 942-8433. Click here to see the product list.
  • This week in the F. Scott's Bar, the secret speakeasy word is "Queen of the Waves." Whisper this phrase to the bartender and catch an order of fish tacos for half off until August 8. If you want to engage in conversation, ask who "Queen of the Waves" is.
  • I know you're already tired of hearing about the Tomato Art Fest this weekend, but you're not tired of chocolate, are you? Stop by the Olive & Sinclair Chocolate booth to try the Kosher Salt and Cracked Pepper Chocolate whilst you register to win a free case of chocolate. And as always, report back about the chocolate, and if you're a winner.
