Cocina Mexican Grill, the casual Tex-Mex chain with outlets downtown and in Cool Springs, is opening a store in Berry Hill today. Cocina founder Himanshu Patel will debut his newest eatery, housed in a cottage at 2834 Azalea Place, with free lunch from 11 a.m. to noon.
If you get to the grand opening, please report back on Bites. Meanwhile, if you have dined at either of the existing Cocina Grills, give us an idea what to expect.

Wonder how Baja Burrito feels about this development in its own backyard.
Cocina is straightforward, consistent. No bells and whistles. But good. Fresh, quality meats and all the usual topping suspects. They are always friendly and efficient, so it works for the downtown location. The burrito 'combo' runs you about $8.50, which includes a drink and chips with queso.
I'd never pass up Baja for it, but I agree with Hippo, Cocina is consistent and good, and yet another place that I'd add to my list of chain Mexican places that are about on par with a certain McDonald's-backed outlet which I don't understand the worship for....
The only bad thing about the downtown Cocina is that they've never been able to get really solid ventilation in there and you end up smelling like fajitas for the rest of the day.
Delicious food. Great service. wonderful atmosphere Inside looks nothing like it does outside.
Only other thing I'd like to see is a hot sauce bar and better guacamole.
