Have you ever wondered who actually thought it was a good idea to stock blue cotton candy-flavored milk in the school cafeteria? Want to know why there's not more fresh produce on the lunch line? Or why students don't eat the produce they grow in the school garden? Got other questions about food in schools?
Join the the Food Security Partners and the Growing Healthy Kids initiative for School Food Systems 101, a presentation exploring the details of school lunch. Kathy Peterson, a recent graduate of the Dietetic Internship Program at Vanderbilt will lead the conversation.
The meeting is open to the public and takes place at 6 p.m., July 16, at Bordeaux Elementary Family Resource Center, 1910 S. Hamilton Road.
