If you're still reeling from seeing Food, Inc. at The Belcourt, and you're trying to figure out what you can do to help fight the giant, earth-killing, soul-sucking monolith that is the industrial food complex, then Jennifer Casale and Kindy Girdley want to talk to you.

In January, Casale opened The Green Wagon in Sylvan Park. The store's mission is "to assist communities in reducing our collective carbon footprint by making environmentally friendly products accessible and affordable." Casale says that business has exceeded expectations, so she's teaming up with chef Kindy Girdley to open an East Nashville outpost which will continue the "green general store" concept, but will also include a specialty cafe focusing on healthy, organic vegan and vegetarian food, with some organic free-range chicken and turkey items, along with coffee and tea.

Girdley and Casale are currently scouting out locations, and are seeking investors who share their vision of a healthier, greener, sustainable future. If you're interested in knowing more, call (615) 942-7874 or email kindy@thegreenwagon.com.
