The statute of limitations is well expired on my friend-of-a-friend who recently made a shocking admission about her past life as a restaurant server, so I'm not here to judge her. I'm just here to help us all learn from her experience.
While working for a large national restaurant chain, the informant was instructed by her managers to flat-out lie to customers who asked for decaffeinated coffee. Rather than take the time to brew two pots, servers were told to pass off regular coffee as decaf.
Has anyone else ever told such a little brown lie? Has anyone been the jittery victim of a Sanka swap? What other restaurant atrocities have you committed or survived? (Feel free to answer anonymously. Again, we don't want to judge. We just want to know what to look out for.)
