If you're looking for a not-too-far-away summer field trip, check out this week's review of Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe, which is nestled at the sleepy crossroads of Whites Creek Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard. Owner Richard Trest is in the process of finishing up a brick patio, which will open July 16, and he's offering folks a shot at immortality with a name-the-patio contest.
There's a maximum of two entries per person, and names should draw on New Orleans, Whites Creek, the James gang, live music and other Ri'Chard's-related themes. Restaurant staff will vote, and the winner will get a plaque on the courtyard and a beer a week for a year ($50 value).
You can also get your mug on the wall by submitting a maximum of two photos to richardscafe (at) comcast (dot) net, with names of anyone in photo and a catchy title. The best 10 to 20 snaps--taken at Ri'Chard's, centering on food and music and showing the color and fun atmosphere--will be posted online for voting in late June. The winning shooter will receive free dinner each month for a year ($150 value).
