I can't speak for other food writers, but at least a few times a month, I eat two lunches in a day. Friday was one of them. Hey, if you want to be thin, you choose a different line of work.
Anyway, the Scene food bloggers had a lunch date for later, scheming our magically bewitching and funny coverage, and generally planning a takeover of the world as we in the liberal media are well-known to do. So I had to be at the front of the line when the Mas Tacos Por Favor truck brought its much-admired fare to the newspaper's parking lot. I tried all three of the tacos del dia: a spicy fish taco, a really spicy chicken taco and a vegan quinoa-and-potato. Hot and freshly made, each had its own appealing flavor profile. It's easy to see why the van draws the late-night bar crowd.
Fresh food takes time, and the line grew as noon approached. Here's a snap shot of the good-looking queue that had formed by the time we left for my second lunch.
The wagon's Twitter feed (mas_tacos) reports that they'll be parking in the Gulch the first Friday of each month this summer. Mark July 3 and August 7 on the calendar so you don't accidentally schedule something for that day, unless you want to eat two lunches.

She is everywhere. I just left a birthday party where Mas Tacos was serving dinner. A great party plan. MAS tacos, indeed. We need a parking lot full of these wagons.
The Twitter feed for Mas Taco is actually just: mastaco —not mas_taco
really? oh dear. I wonder who I'm following. THey must think I'm really weird.
Not to worry, they both direct to the same name to Twitter. Mas_Tacos works fine.
Thanks for the info...I'm just within walking distance of the Gulch during lunch times. I want some warning next time the Scene crew heads to Jimmy Carl's. The scent from the smoker lights up my life on my morning commute.
