Free Bites Folks, Here's a Story `Bout Minnie the Moocha

It's a steamy summer Wednesday, and the hot freebies abound. If you left your wallet at home today, you can still probably survive the day on the change in your ashtray. (Do they still have ashtrays in cars anymore?)
Lunch should be easy if you're lucky enough to be one of the first fifty people to arrive after noon at The Closing Bell on Music Row. This meal is courtesy of the staff of MetroMix Nashville, so dress to impress or you may find yourself on the wrong side of the velvet rope.
If you're too late to make the MetroMix nooner or your collar just isn't popped enough to get you in the door, I'm sure you'll be welcome at your neighborhood Arby's for a gratis FruiTea with the purchase of a sandwich. It's part of their summer of hot Wednesday deals. Once a week consumption of cheddar sauce on sliced meat can't be that bad for you, can it?
On the healthier side, Whole Foods is offering a BOGO sale on all flavors of their house brand ice cream. BOGO's not as catchy as the old "Two for the price of one plus a dollar" Family Booterie jingle that still haunts my brain, but it still gets it done. Click here for details.
Admittedly, calling ice cream "healthier" might have been a stretch, but if you have no need for such rationalizations, tonight is the much-anticipated Free Float Night at your local Sonic Drive-In from 8:00 pm until midnight. So head on over for some carnival food and a 10 oz. root beer float. Sounds like a great way to cap off an evening, especially after a free flick sponsored by your friends at The Scene.

**Update-Movies in the Park has been canceled for tonight. Kung Fu Panda will show July 1; MitP continues as scheduled next week. That just means you can get to Sonic a little earlier. Carry on.

Gah!!! Just when I finally got that Family Booterie jingle out of my head (well, it's been 1 maybe 2 years)...it gives me the creeps for some weird reason.
No dress code -- really! Well, we would prefer that you be dressed, but other than that we really don't care. Thanks for the plug, and to everybody who came down for lunch! We'll be at Coyote Ugly next week -- watch for details.
