Traveling Vegetarian: Can Veggies Make ME Look Like That?

In case you haven't seen the cover of this week's Scene yet, get a load of the vivacious vegan Yvonne Smith. The Traveling Vegetarian graces the cover of our Summer Guide and in so doing makes a stunning case for abandoning meat.

Just back from Australia, West Coast native Smith says she put some effort into toning and tanning before her cover shoot, but I have a feeling she just said that to make me feel better about my saturated-fat way of life. I'm afraid all that tofu and quinoa makes her glow in a way that bacon will never benefit me.

But Yvonne is more than a blond bombshell. She's an awesome advocate for vegetarians, seeking out restaurants across the country that make the most of meatless cuisine. You can check out her finds in Atlanta, Asheville and other veg-friendly cities at her website, and see her profile this month at VegetarianWomen.com.

Who do we need to call to get this woman her own Food Network show?

Sounds like a better fit for the Travel Channel.

I think that picture will get her a show anyplace she wants. She looks like Venus emerging from an alfalfa patch.

Yvonne is a veggie force to be reckoned with.
Some channel better swoop her up and now. Those of us who know her are just sitting back patiently waiting because someday we'll all say we knew her when.

Wow. Maybe I need to put a little more attention into my diet and take a page outta Yvonne's book. She's pretty smart, that one! I'm dying to see her on TV!!

Food Network would double their profits if Yvonne had a show on that Network. Once they figure out that today's generation simply does not desire to eat all those fatty meat items, maybe they will talk to Yvonne. She's extremely informative and has done her research well on a vegetarian life style. Plus, she's pretty. I'm not trying to knock down Food Network, but come on...Paula Deen or Yvonne Smith?

Yvonne's style sends a positive vegan message. Instead of putting down non-vegetarians she uses her passion for food in a way that keeps everyone focused on the good in being meat-less. She's also a great person!
