Chalk up another global taste treat for Carothers Parkway. Cool Springs' unexpected culinary corridor--home to Basil Asian Bistro, Taste of Russia, Cajun Steamer and more--now boasts Bombay Bistro. The no-frills Indian eatery, located near Spice of India market, opened last Friday and has earned early acclaim for its Northern Indian lunch buffet. No firsthand feedback yet on the dinner menu, but we'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, if you get to Bombay Bistro before we do, please report back on Bites.
Bombay Bistro is located at 9100 Carothers Parkway (phone: 771-9105). The restaurant serves lunch buffet along with the regular menu 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

I tried this place Wednesday for lunch and left disappointed. The place was crowded which was surprising since it just opened. The buffet is small and limited. The buffet consisted of 2 kinds of rice, tandoor chicken, saag chicken, aloo gobi, pakora, hash brown potatoes, raita, naan, galub jamun and a few other condiments. The pakora was on the greasy side. The aloo gobi was a little bland for me. The tandoor & saag chicken dishes were average. However, I am willing to wait a few weeks and give it another go.
I do like the Spice of India grocery store two doors down, especially for spices. You can't beat their prices.
Four of us had lunch here on Wednesday, and we enjoyed it immensely. I'm just excited to have an Indian restaurant nearby, and I hope it will survive.
Taste of India has also opened up across from Bombay Bistro. It is actually better. Their recipes are better and their selection is as well. I think they are where Taste of Russia used to be.
