My mother and my bro-ham arrived in town at 9 a.m. yesterday (an early wake-up call for this freelancer), and we headed almost immediately to breakfast--after a quick meet-and-greet with my cat Doug, obvs.
Now, I eat a lot of brunch at Marché--if you haven't already heard--but I don't eat very much breakfast there. Boy, am I missing out. The breakfast menu was chock full of delicious, simple, affordable goodness. My family members both chowed down on a breakfast bruschetta--bacon, arugula, parmesan and fried egg on toast--while I started my day with a Marché staple: strawberries and mascarpone on whole grain toast. The b-fast menu also featured an egg-and-gruyere sandwich, smoked salmon and dill crème fraîche, French toast, corn beef hash, oatmeal with strawberries and cream and multiple other exciting options, most for under $7. In addition, there were two omelette options (one meat, one veg), a crêpe option and a quiche.
The best part? There were only two other tables occupied in the whole place. No muss no fuss. Oh, and we got our fill of their intense Drew's Brews elixir--perfect fuel for a family hike around Radnor Lake. So wholesome.

Do you ever eat anyplace else beside Marche" or Margos. There must be other restaurants in your repertoire.
I am not picking on you, dramaqueen, but could somebody explain to Nashville, as a whole, that Margot has NO "s" on the end?
Margots, Zolas, Krogers, oh how the list can go on. It IS annoying, like the way the English say "going to hospital."
Meanwhile, it IS also funny that Margot and Marche occupy so many of these posts. Been there, done that.
While I do love the food at both places, I just got fed up with the superior attitudes and stopped going; though this post makes me doubt my resolve. I do love breakfast.
And, understandably, I am quite certain that no Scene staffer would ever suffer that same problem given the massive amount of support they throw in that direction.
