Bites Hump Day Magic: East Nashville Farmers' Market Begins May 20

Last year the small Wednesday evening farmers' market in the parking lot of the Turnip Truck never failed to draw an enthusiastic crowd--prone to lingering over live bluegrass and spring onions.
In fact, last year was so successful that the 2009 incarnation has been forced to move to bigger digs. Don't worry, they're not going far, setting up shop at the Free Will Baptist Church (210 S. 10th St.; at the corner of 10th and Fatherland). The larger location will mean expanded options. In addition to last year's produce vendors, this year's market will include local producers of honey, maple syrup, eggs, baked goods, and milk.
For information, visit the market's new website: eastnashvillemarket.com. The market runs every Wednesday, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tomorrow's opening day festivities will also feature the Loving Touch Petting Zoo.

Farm vendors: Delvin Farms, Madison Creek Farms, Paradise Produce, Peaceful Pastures, West Wind Farm, SonFarm, Clover Cove Farms. New farms include Beaver Creek Dam Farm, Foggy Hollow Farm, Totty's Bend Farm, Blue Honey Farm, Flying S Farms and Hatcher Family Dairy.
Additional non-food vendors: natural nut butters from Spread the Love Butter; organic died apparel from ASK Apparel; pepper sauces from Moose Sauces; baked goods and cheesecakes from Lucy's Cheesecake; oven-baked breads from Twin Oaks Bakery; homemade candles from Angelight Candles; organic tea blends from Natural Choice Botanicals; and natural vegan glycerin soaps from Carol's Soaps and Adornments.
