That's what is going on in my kitchen these days. Aging dishwasher pump broke at the same time water heater and faucet cartridge also failed. The image shows less than half of the rescue equipment reviving the wood floors. And the water is turned off.
So we'll be dining out more often. So far, Moe's, Ruby Tuesday and two quarts of Costco creamy tomato basil soup. Anyone else tried it?(Is it just me, or is there vinegar in it?)
The cook's on vacation--where can we go that's inexpensive, family friendly and on the West side?

The old Sylvan Park of course, on Murphy Rd. Home cooking better and cheaper than home.
I believe tonight's Smokin' Monday at the Corner Pub in Green Hills.
Kebab Gyro on White Bridge Road in Paddock Place meets all three criteria.
Woodlands Vegetarian. If I lived on that side of town, I would eat there once a week.
So many great suggestions. Thanks everyone, and keep them coming. Where is Blue Coast Burrito? Is that in Nashville West?
Calhoun's does an unbeatable $4.99 burger and side special on Monday nights. It's a huge, delicious burger and you don't have to get fries.
Calypso is always good.
Blue Coast is in Nashville West, just past El Jaliciense on Charlotte, which has a $4+ buffet at lunch. Anyone tried it yet?
Has anyone checked out Thai Kitchen in Berry Hill? Right by the Jersey Mike's. Super cheap and totaly delicious. Their Tom Yum Kai soup rocks and their noodle dishes are really great. All around $5.00 for dinner for a TON of food that can be 2 meals easily. I am still trying to figure out their chinese food selections on the menu though...
Blue Coast is the franchise created by the father of Troy Smith, the creator of Baja Burrito's(I believe). It's very similar, but upon dining with someone at Baja Burrito this weekend who had eaten at Blue Coast recently he says the portions are better at Baja Burrito...yet another reason to avoid the franchise abyss.

I quite like Thai Kitchen; that's a good choice.
Bobbie's Dairy Dip, duh.
Fluffernutter left out the fact that last Friday, she brought me some of the uniquely satisfying Nam Sod that Thai Kitchen offers. As I got on the flight to Chicago this morning, I felt sure the onions were still on my breath. That's just the price the flying public will have to pay.
