Music City Gourmet Selling Great Stuff

Music City Gourmet, a good little cookware store in Villa Place, is selling off its inventory at a 40 percent discount until March 28 before shutting down.

I've always admired this shop's thoughtful selection of gear, carefully picked and well-merchandised. Some of it overlaps with the inventory at Williams Sonoma, but Music City Gourmet's prices are lower.   I went looking for a toaster oven some months back and found that both the models they carried were top-rated. I appreciate shops like this for taking the guesswork out of buying.

"We love to do it, and we have fun doing it," says Aaron Helmlinger, co-owner of the shop with his brother Kelly. So they hope to reopen somewhere, in better times.

Helmlinger notes that coffee and tea aren't included in the sale merchandise. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Really too bad. Great little shop. Would rather buy stuff from there or Davis Cookware (in Hilsboro Village) any day over Williams Sonoma.

What a shame! I first discovered them at the Edgehill shopping plaza open house last fall. I've been meaning to go back because it was such a neat place with great stuff. I'll definitely go see them this weekend before they close. I wish the Bros. Helmlinger luck and hope they do reopen somewhere soon.
