Dan McGuinness Irish Pub Fish Special

The $6 fish & chips special available all day Thursday at Dan McGuinness' Cool Springs and Demonbreun pubs would make the dead Irish poets smile in Gaelic glee. If sweet and flaky fried white fish isn't your cuppa tea, hold on 'til Sunday night when Danny Mac steps up the fare with Pie and Pie night. All pints are $3, and shepherd's pie is $7. 1538 Demonbreun St. and 9200 Caruthers Pkwy.

Went to the CoolSprings McGuinness about a month ago for fish n chips. They were cooked just right. The reuben was good n greasy, too, and so big that two of us split it. Drinks were reasonably priced. All in all, it was an entirely successful outing for a CoolSprings-based group.

My DMcG experiences have been mixed.
On at least once occasion we waited nearly for 45 min for our fish, while other tables who had arrived after us received theirs. Sometimes the portions are a bit skimpy too, but for $6 its hard to complain.
When done right(and promptly) the fish is great. Good tartar sauce too.

How do DMcG's fish 'n chips compare to Batter'd and Fried's?
