Free Meal, Movie at Downtown Presbyterian Tonight

Posted by Jim Ridley on Thu, Mar 19, 2009 at 12:55 PM

Nothing goes together like German expressionism and a free bowl of soup, which makes the Downtown Presbyterian Church's ongoing Lenten Film Series one of the coolest cultural offerings in town. Tonight's feature is the 1920 silent horror film Der Golem, with the soundtrack provided by U2's Achtung, Baby. The film starts at 7 p.m., preceded by a light supper also provided free of charge.

The church is located at 154 Fifth Ave. N. For more information, call 254-7584.

Anyone know what the grub will be exactly? Curious if it's veggitarian friendly.

U2 and (und?) der Golem? why? While "Even Better Than The Real Thing" is quite sardonic, I can't say I've been humming those tunes when watching that flick. Odd pairing...
