Andrew Chadwick's, the fine dining venue in the stately old house at 37 Rutledge Avenue, has closed its doors.
The eatery, opened and operated by Chadwick, a one-time chef at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, earned rave reviews, including several from Scene critic Carrington Fox, for the carefully imagined and meticulously crafted food. Chadwick's served its last meal Saturday night.
This week, the handful of servers and chefs was milling about the building in preparation for a couple of events to say goodbye to the small cadre of regular diners, who often checked in with Chadwick to learn when the truffle shipments were arriving from France or how the fig trees were doing in the gardens of the historic house.

I heard such good things. I'm sorry that like a too many Nashvillians who enjoy "carefully imagined and meticulously crafted food," I could not afford to eat there.
Brian here, Maitre d' at Andrew Chadwick's... This Friday we will be hosting an all you can drink, all you can eat wine and cheese tasting starting at 5:30 pm. We will have buffet style hors d'ourves and an eclectic wine selection. Also, there are still 13 seats available for the 5 course dinner on Saturday, which will be our last night of service. Please make reservations for either of these nights.

Thanks to all our regular diners. You all made this experience unforgettable.
Thank you for checking in Brian. Both of those options sound great. You might just see a few familiar faces Friday. Best of luck to you in whatever comes next.
This is sad. I would never have been able to eat there, and yet I was really glad it was there pushing the boundaries of Nashville's offerings. I look forward to seeing what they do next.
Does that mean employees will receive their pay in a timely manner? A few of us had to almost go to the Department Of Labor to receive money owed. The list go's on and on...
I am sorry to see the email by mr. ? as the statements posted are inaccurate and untrue. All employees have been paid appropriately and per agreement.
FYI, Just found out tonight is Wildwood's last night. Good luck guys.
Yup I can confirm fishmonger's statement about Wildwood.
As for Chadwick's, I have heard wonderful things about the restaurant by the couple of people I know that dined there. However, as a chef, I coudn't afford the prices.
What this means is that Nashville really isn't quite ready for restaurants of this calibre. There have been a handful of establishments close in the past few months that were the pushing the envelope and recreating the allure and chic of the finest big city restaurants. Although "gastrique" and "sous vide" are becoming household words, the average Nashville diner still doesn't have the refined palate or gastronomical insight and vocabulary to truly understand (and frequent) these restaurants. My friends would rather have a pint and pie at Family Wash.
