Veteran journalist and tireless taster Pat Embry recently completed a culinary circuit of the city to update the second edition of Where the Locals Eat: Nashville. A handy diner's companion published by Brentwood-based Magellan Publishing, WTLE is a nearly exhaustive listing of hundreds of hometown restaurants. If we didn't know better, we'd say there was no way that skinny man actually ate in all those places, but we bump into Embry often enough--in restaurants as diverse as Ombi and The Sands--to take his word for it. Embry will sign Where the Locals Eat, Sunday, Jan. 25 at Davis Kidd Booksellers, and local restaurateurs will be on hand dishing up samples.
