Plumgood employee Sarah Voter just emailed to say that the now-shuttered online grocer will no longer be collecting the gray totes it once used to deliver food orders. "If you have totes in your possession, please keep or recycle them. You will not be charged for them," she said in the email. "Over the years I have learned of many uses for the Plumgood totes from our customers. Here are some fun suggestions in case you need a little inspiration (or a good chuckle):
Cat litter box, storage box for Christmas décor, camping cooler, road trip cooler, Titans tailgate cooler, recycle bin, laundry basket, rain bucket to recycle water for garden or plants, toy box, moving-out-of-state tote, porch or front door décor, campfire stool, and, last but not least, a place to keep all of your Plumgood memories!"
Thanks for the tips, Sarah. Best of luck to you and the whole Plumgood team.

Actually, I'd love to have one of these. Very useful around the house. If anyone has an extra they don't want, I'd gladly take it.
The information in this article is incorrect. Plumgood is still picking up totes. The totes are still the property of Plumgood Food.
Customers that still have totes will be contacted by phone or email and a pickup day will be scheduled.
Sarah Voter, the director of customer service for Plumgood, told everyone on the East Nashville list serve to keep their totes. Mine have been picked up, but I know there are lots of others out there that would like the definitive word on this. I'm bummed that they are closing, it was a great service with a teeny infant.
