That's right: it was five years ago that Donald "Bo" Boatright started serving "The Crunkest Fish in Town" across the river at 2617 Gallatin Pike. Since then, East Side Fish has been written up in Gourmet, saluted by Jane and Michael Stern at Roadfood.com (where we swiped this photo), and crowned the Kings of Fish by the Scene's "Best of Nashville" and other discerning mariners.

Starting at noon Saturday, East Side Fish gives everybody five with an afternoon birthday celebration. 92Q will do a live remote, but the big news is...did we really hear this right? Free fish sandwiches? You'd better call 227-8388 to get the details, or just to make sure we didn't dream this in a cornmeal-induced fever. And if you can eat an entire Original O.G. King Fish—the granddaddy of Nashville hot fish sandwiches, smothered in pickle, yellow mustard and hot sauce—call me Ishmael.

Congratulations to a Nashville treasure.
