Fri-day, Fri-day, FRIDAY!!! SEE the BARISTA BATTLE of the CENTURY, ONE NIGHT ONLY at BONGO JAVA EAST! The hottest STEAM! The roundest BEANS! The foamiest CREMA! Who will be named Nashville's LORD of LATTES?!? The MOCHA AYATOLLAH! The PACINO of CAPPUCCINO! There can be ONLY ONE!!! Tell a BUDDY, bring a FRIEND—it ALL! STARTS! TONIGHT (ight! ight! ight!) at BONNN-GOOO JAA-VAAAH!!!

Bongo Java Barista Competition is open only to employees of Bongo Java and its affiliated companies. Competition begins at 6 p.m. tonight at Bongo Java Cafe East, 107 S. 11th St. The public is invited to watch but not to prod, goad, distract or bamboozle. Infield chatter will not be tolerated. The photo above (stolen here) does not represent any Bongo Java employees past or present, but in the event any Bongo Java employees past or present do resemble the photograph above, all inquiries should be made in person after hours to M. Pink c/o Nashville Scene Bites. Bongo Java is not responsible for injuries caused by hissing steam, scalding milk, perilously shifting sugar or marauding bandits. Starbucks mugs will be shattered and crushed into powder.
