Germantown Cafe: Thanks for the Business, Get Ready for Allium

Germantown Café wants to thank you, cherished readers-eaters, for coming in during Restaurant Week, which manager Greg Hilbourn calls “an unbelievable success.” Like an Emmy award winner, he was moved with gratitude. “It was so humbling to see all these people coming in," he said.

Also like an Emmy award winner, the Cafe has a sense of mission. Currently in development is the menu for Allium, the group’s next venture, opening mid-November in the 5th & Main development in East Nashville. The Germantown kitchen occasionally tests a possible menu item, usually as a daily special. If you’re lucky enough to be there and get one of the secret specials, report back to Bites.

This is totally unrelated... but I searched and serached could find no other way to contact the editors of this site. (Although, I'm not that great of an internet sleuth.)
Can anyone provide ANY information on the Chocolate Cafe I saw with an "Coming Soon" sign I saw while on a bike ride in Germantown this past Sunday??? I am VERY VERY intrigued and would love to know more! Thanks!
Again, sorry to post an unrelated comment, but we're talking CHOCOLATE here folks!

I believe Carrington's story this week might have some information:

To continue with the off-topic nature of this thread, I agree with Erin-- there definitely needs to be an email address posted so we, the readers of this fine blog, can contact the Bites editors with all of our insights, spottings, and the like.

Does anyone know if the concept of Allium is to be casual/fine, along the lines of G-town, or more of see-and-be-seen?
On the other topic, a note-link would give us semi-faithful readers a way to toss you guys a question or suggestion without being obtrusive.

Back on topic, GTown main courses we ordered during restaurant week were great. Uncharacteristically, the waiter we had was horrible. Was he a slacker jerk because he thought he was going to get less tips, so why try? Bad service during restaurant week has been a theme of those I talked to about it.

I heard the same thing throughout Restaurant Week, but that was not my experience at all. We went to PM, and the server there, Benjamin, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

We went to Germantown also, and had great service and a great meal. I can't wait for Allium to open - have high hopes for another great venture so close to my home!

Loved Germantown Cafe's service during restaurant week! We had a great waitor and a wonderful night! We were at a table for 4 and we all ate grandly and were treated quite well.

I got an accidental tour of the almost-finished Allium space yesterday. That is going to be one seriously pretty room.
