Black and White and Fed All Over

We didn't take enough money to the fair -- who does? -- and were down to $5. What can you buy for $5 that has enough calories to feed two people? Fried oreos!

It's not something we would normally have tried, but we kind of liked the melty chocolate inside, intensely cocoa-flavored from the oreo, and warm and soft. We made up a rhyme:

Sugar and fat

Who doesn't love that?

We couldn't find the ATM, so we didn't try the deep-fried Goo Goo -- anyone have a report?

My personal favorite is the Deep Fried Snickers.

I voted in favor of the Snickers, too, but we were at the wrong stand, and, being rednecks, we weren't about to waddle up the hill, even for a deep-fried Snickers.

that looks like a deep-fried Langolier!!
Which is my pop-cult way of saying "not a good thing"

Wasn't Langoliers a Stephen King book, El Z? Were Langoliers like Oreos?

in the Tee-Vee movie, the langoliers look exactly like the split oreo. if the split oreo had rotating-chainsaw teeth....

Three words: crunchy shrimp roll. Also, many sushi joints in town (including whatever Benkay is called now and my new favorite, Tenno) have some form of fried sushi on the menu, and a lot of it is really good.

Isn't "tempura" sushi just deep-fried sushi? I get some tempura crunchy shrimp (or crunchy crab) at Shintomi in Green Hills.
Also, for those who like sushi, check out the Crawfish sushi at Ru'San. I know, it sounds disgusting...but it's oh so tasty, used to be $1 for 3 or 4 pieces. Best deal and best sushi on the menu.
