Restaurants Edisto: You Make the Call

A word to the wise: If you’re headed to Edisto—the new South Carolina-influenced restaurant at 1711 Division—or Sweetgrass Smokerie—the delicious-smelling barbecue window located behind it—you might call ahead. Yesterday, Edisto was open for lunch, but a note on the window at Sweetgrass explained that it was closed until late afternoon. Today, the barbecue joint was open, but the full-service Edisto was closed. When we asked why the schedule was so erratic, the folks at the Smokerie said Edisto had been so busy they had “run out of product.” The restaurant is expected to be open for dinner tonight, but a call to 712-9218 would not be a bad idea.
