Originals Host Gift Certificate Sale Aug. 6

Posted by Carrington Fox on Mon, Aug 4, 2008 at 5:05 AM

Wake up and smell the gift certificates. The Nashville Originals will host the next quarterly sale of discounted vouchers on Wednesday, Aug. 6. It's your chance to dine at your favorite independent local restaurants—including PM, Mambu, Mirror, Midtown, Germantown Café, Caffé Nonna, Flyte, Ombi, Rumba, tayst, Tin Angel, Tangredi's Italian Kitchen and more—for just pennies on the dollar.

Of course, we've never personally managed to wake up early enough to take advantage of the popular deal, which knocks 30 percent or more off the price of gift certificates in $25 and $50 denominations. But hope springs eternal, so set your alarm clock. On second thought, please don't set your alarm. Give us sleepyheads a fighting chance for once.

Don't be fooled by the magic of the scheduled-post function.

Yes, it was time for batting-mommy-on-the-head practice.

i'm thinking that's routine, and that sleeping until 7 am is unlikely to ever happen for you again - at least within the next 10 years...
rock on, sistah
as for the certificates, maybe i'll grab one for PM. it's been on my list...

Oooh... I'm excited! Last time I got Cabana, Rumba, Noshville, Mirror, & Fido. This time I'm going for tayst, PM, & Flyte! All on my list of restaurants I've yet to try!

I had a 4AM conf call with comrades across the pond today, so began checking immediately. none available then, not at 430, not at 5, etc. Figured they hadn't gone live yet for this go-round. Call finally ended almost 3 hours later, went to get a fresh cup of joe, stretch my legs, feed the dog, come back to look and damn, almost all the big certs were gone. I don't know who you people are or how you know exactly when to strike, but this borders on absurd.
How about getting them to post them at mid-day sometime instead, just to rattle the early hitters?

Yikes... I was on the computer at 7:02... and I STILL couldn't get Flyte or tayst!
But I snagged The Acorn, PM (just barely though..), and Baja Burrito.
CRAZY!

thanks you eaters out there for supporting the Nashville Originals.
Yes, the Gift Certificates went fast but it will all happen again in 3 months.
The funds raised go toward marketing independent, locally owned and operated restaurants (and businesses), supporting charitable events and other good things.
Thanks again.
See you at Dinner
