If you've been driving hungrily by the Belle Meade Plaza on Harding Road, looking for a place to eat now that Belle Meade Cafeteria and Goldie's Delicatessen have pulled out, there's good news on the dining horizon. Not only are Publix and Harris Teeter in the works for the Harding Road corridor near the intersection of White Bridge Road, but Cheeseburger Charley's will be opening in the former home of Signs Plus. Paul Ziady and Salem Ghanam, franchisees of Cheeseburger Charley's and Jersey Mike's, will start work on the location in the next few days, and they plan to open in late March. 4516 Harding Road.

I like ol' Cheesy Chaz. Good shakes, good fries, great condiment bar. Pity their tomatoes are always kind of pale and mealy whenever I go, even in summertime.

I survived for entire semesters on little more than pickles and water at that condiment bar. Cheesy Chaz and Sallie Mae practically underwrote my higher education.

I have to say, after trying Five Guys, they top Cheeseburgery Charley's for me. However, Charley's does have the edge in milkshakes. Milkshakes were nowhere to be found on the Five Guys menu.

The last time I went to Five Guys, they forgot to put a burger on my burger. The resulting veggie sandwich was still pretty great.

Am I the only one who is consistently underwhelmed by Cheeseburger Charley's? Yes, it's cool that they're local. And who doesn't love a condiment bar? But no matter which location, I am always let down by the actual burgers themselves. Very disappointing for a restaurant that has "cheeseburger" right there in their name.

Good, in so far as you can't eat signs.

There is something highly addictive about the Malibu Burger, BUT 'ol Cheesy Chaz has a lot to learn from Five Guys customer service. That's all I'm sayin' ...

So how are you supposed to get At least 6 months experience in a high-volume environment when the places hiring want At least 6 months experience in a high-volume environment before they will hire you?
