Milk Shake in Paradise

Posted By on Tue, Sep 4, 2007 at 2:44 PM

A few months ago, I surprised even myself with an enthusiastic review of the uber-kitsch Paradise Park Trailer Resort, a tongue-in-cheek homage to everything Jeff Foxworthy holds sacred. While I was caught off guard by the fresh preparation of Boar's Head meats and other ingredients of unexpectedly high quality, my harshest criticism of the 24-hour burger joint was that it did not serve a milk shake.

But owner Benjamin Goldberg, who also owns uber-chic Bar Twenty3, has now remedied that shortcoming with a menu of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and Oreo shakes. I tried one today for lunch. Thick, creamy and textured with the delicate chocolate sand of crushed Oreos, it was arguably worth the $4 price tag.

I'll still never get my head around Paradise's Spam sandwich....
