I read a review in a local paper praising Jerusalem for their delicious food and I decided to try it out while I was in town.
The good: The arabic coffee was delicious. It is a small cup of sweetened coffee with tons of cardamon in it which was quite tasty. The humus and baba ganoush were probably the best I had ever had.
The bad: No buffet on the weekends. Service was terrible! We had a waitress that was obviously new, confused and may have been sick or getting over being sick. She was unable to answer most of our questions and brought a man out several times to try to answer our questions.
We started off with some ground lamb wrapped in a pastry and it was awful. I'm guessing it was left over from a few days ago and toasted in an attempt to mask the staleness. The meat was dry and crumbly and I had to saw through the thick stale pastry with my teeth, being careful to not launch lamb bits across the table as I pried bites off. We ordered lamb on rice for our main dish and got cow on rice instead. I am not a cow eater. We told the waitress it was not lamb, she got the guy again who cut a piece of the meat and informed me it was lamb leg. I should have had him take a bite and then tell me it wasn't cow... because it WAS cow. He asked what we wanted to do and we ended up keeping it because my boyfriend was famished, would eat it and I figured I was likely get another piece of cow anyways. My hopes for delicious lamb were crushed. Lucky for me there was enough humus to fill up on.
My last complaint was that they had a TV on in the dining area which was distracting and took away from the atmosphere.
I don't go to Nashville often, but I will be sure to avoid this place on my future trips.
