Bathroom breakdown
Shortly after 8 a.m., a woman knocked on the front door of a residence in the 12 South neighborhood and asked if she could use the bathroom. Despite the unusual request, the homeowners allowed the stranger to come inside and relieve herself. But after using the restroom, the woman didn’t leave, and instead made herself comfortable in the living room. After a few awkward minutes, the couple finally told the lady to go, at which point she went ballistic and started screaming at them for being rude. Police responded to the house and arrested the suspect, 37, for disorderly conduct and trespassing. During booking, officers found a wristwatch in her pants pocket—which apparently she had swiped off the bathroom counter—and she was charged with theft too.

An officer was patrolling Dickerson Pike when he observed a man “jumping up and down, swinging his arms around, yelling obscenities and cussing citizens at the gas pumps.” As the cop pulled up to the scene, the intoxicated suspect took a metal trashcan from a local business and placed it in the middle of the street, attempting to block the policeman’s path. After being handcuffed, the perp became extremely combative, police say, spitting all over the back of the patrol car and banging his head against the partition on the way to booking. In his report, the officer explains, “The back of the vehicle will now have to be cleaned and disinfected, costing the Metro government unnecessary expense.” The suspect, 47, was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and vandalism.
