Suspect Behavior

Tall drinks, tall tales
After arresting a motorist on Hillsboro Pike for driving under the influence, officers instructed the passenger of the vehicle to get out and arrange for another ride home. The passenger then locked the car doors and refused to exit the vehicle, insisting he had done nothing wrong. He finally agreed to get out of the car and sit on the curb, at which point he began calling friends on his cell phone and claiming he was “surrounded by officers who all had their hands on their weapons,” according to police. Despite numerous warnings to stop, the 41-year-old suspect continued making phone calls and claiming police were trying to take him down. After a brief tussle with officers, the perp was arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Just ignore the crack pipe
A resident of a Clifton Avenue apartment complex was wandering around outside and screaming about the “bitches” who always call the police on him when, not surprisingly, officers responded to the scene. Police warned the suspect, 44, to settle down and go back inside, but he continued being disruptive. Officers then asked for permission to search the perp’s apartment, to which he responded, “Search if you want. I ain’t got nothing.” Immediately upon entering the apartment, however, police say they found a metal crack pipe. When officers approached to handcuff the suspect, he attempted to run away, but according to police “this technique was unsuccessful,” and he was booked for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting and evading arrest.

Party foul
A female suspect crashed a neighborhood party where she knew no one and proceeded to get shit-faced on free booze. When the evening ended and the rest of the guests had left, the woman remained until finally the homeowners convinced her to leave. The suspect, 37, returned a short time later and asked the couple if they were “closed,” or if she could come back inside and party a little longer. The victims became concerned that the woman was too intoxicated to drive and tried to persuade her to call for a ride. The suspect went ballistic and attempted to drive away, prompting the male victim to try to stop her. The suspect warned the man to move away from her car or she would run over him, at which point police say she “drove at the victim and bumped him with the vehicle.” Police tracked the woman down a few blocks away and arrested her for aggravated assault.
