Suspect Behavior

White trashed

An officer turned on his flashing lights after observing a female driver make an illegal left turn onto Charlotte Pike, prompting the woman to stop in the middle of the street. After the officer told the suspect three times over a loudspeaker to move her car out of traffic, the woman finally pulled into a nearby Waffle House parking lot. As the officer approached, he overheard the suspect yelling at her male passenger, “You got me in trouble…thanks for letting me drive, asshole!” The driver admitted to drinking several glasses of champagne, but refused to submit to a field sobriety test. As the 43-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence, the passenger became irate and declared he was not white trash, had money, and that the officer could go fuck himself. The 34-year-old man then was booked for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

When you care enough to send the very best—don’t

A man returned to his 9th Avenue North home after work and was greeted by his wife, 29, who ran outside swinging a shovel. The victim finally made it inside unscathed and discovered the suspect had shattered his aquarium, killing all of his tropical fish. Police responded, and the woman tried to justify her actions, saying she was angry because earlier that day she found a greeting card given to her husband by another woman. The suspect was arrested for domestic assault nonetheless.

Caucasian occasion

Police received numerous calls about a fight at an out-of-control party in West Meade, and upon arrival officers observed a man storming out of the house screaming, “That’s why I hate white people!” The cops warned the suspect to calm down and leave the scene, but police say he continued being disruptive, saying it was his birthday and that “they” always call police. The 23-year-old birthday boy was charged with disorderly conduct as he continued ranting about those damn whites.

All items in Suspect Behavior are taken from actual Metro police arrest reports and affidavits.
