Suspect Behavior
Love bites
A disagreement turned violent when a Germantown woman picked up a child’s toy and smacked her boyfriend in the head with it. The victim didn’t seem bothered by this, so the suspect became enraged and “grabbed a small steak knife and stabbed the victim in the hand with it.” When officers arrived at the scene, they noticed not only a puncture wound on the victim’s hand, but also what appeared to be teeth marks on his face. The suspect admitted, “She bit him on the forehead to try and get him away from her,” police say. The 24-year-old assailant was booked for aggravated assault.
Try the maid’s cart next time
A 20-year-old guest at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Nashville was charged with theft after he broke into the fitness center in the middle of the night, pried open a display case and swiped one of the plush bathrobes. But instead of sneaking back to his room with the loot, the perp donned the robe and headed for the lobby, where he lounged for a few minutes before heading back upstairs. “Security then went to defendant’s room to question him about the robe and found [the] robe sticking out of defendant’s suitcase.”
Punch drunk
When security tried to eject a rowdy patron from Shooters Sports Bar in Old Hickory, the 28-year-old man said he wasn’t going anywhere. The suspect then asked the bouncer “Do you want some of this?” as he reached back with a balled fist as though he was going to throw a punch. His swing was a little too slow, however, and the guard managed to spray him in the face with pepper spray and take him down to the ground until police arrived to arrest him for public intoxication and assault.

While interviewing for a job at the Opryland Hotel, an applicant took the opportunity to steal from employees when he was left alone in the employment office. “The suspect went to the employee lockers, opened one of the lockers and took a cellular phone and $5 in cash,” police say. The theft was caught on camera, and security detained the man until police arrived.
