Dining
Were Benjamin Franklin still alive, he’d be 300 this month and probably having trouble with the new Medicare prescription drug plan—all the more reason for the man who is famously quoted as saying, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy,” to drink more beer. In honor of Franklin, the Brewers Association has created a recipe for Poor Richard’s Ale, a fermented malt beverage infused with molasses and lightened with new-world corn. Boscos is one of 10 brewers in 35 states serving the special ale using this recipe, and beginning Jan. 23, it will be available on tap at Boscos’ Nashville location in Hillsboro Village. A special toast to honor Franklin will take place on Jan. 24 at the Brewmaster’s Dinner, a four-course meal paired with Boscos’ handcrafted beers and ales. Reservations for the $50-per-person meal are required; call 385-0050. For the complete menu, visit www.boscosbeer.com, click on the “Nashville” link, and then and click on the “calendar” link.
