Meet the Scylla and Charybdis of the Belle Meade Plaza parking lot. Try to avoid the Chevy Tahoe on the left and the full-sized “compact” Chevy pickup will claw your paint. Avoid the pickup and you’ll be unable to open your driver-side door, trapped by the “compact” Tahoe and tortured by the siren song that is Katy’s Hallmark and Office Depot. And good luck seeing over these tiny behemoths when you try to back out. Please don’t make us generalize that people who drive big, road-hogging cars are too stupid to understand what “compact” means, too selfish to consider other drivers, or too lazy to walk a little farther from an available regular-sized space. We all know that those people fake an injury and park in the handicapped spots.
