Why did the duck cross the road? To get to the Bedford Commons water retention pond. We actually witnessed this—an SUV came to a full stop on Abbott Martin to let Dewey here walk across the road to rejoin Huey and Louie beside their new home. That doesn’t happen for just any wetbacks in this town. Paging Phil Valentine! Oh, right, water rolls off a duck’s back. Kudos to Rochford Construction, Hastings Architecture and Hawkins Partners for designing a mixed-use development that encourages pedestrian (and webestrian) traffic in Green Hills. Let’s keep it up, Nashville. Music City Moves!—let’s be sure those retired teachers can walk-to-shop as many places as possible. Metro Parks, how about a Sugartree Creek Greenway so folks on Warfield Lane can walk to the new Whole Foods and Cross Creek Roaders can walk to the Y? And don’t forget the “Duck Xing” signs.
