Episode 82

The Scenecast is the "audio extension of the music section of the print edition of the Nashville Scene" and expands your reading pleasure with sonic illustrations to keep your ear in gear with your eye.

June is busting out all over on Scenecast Episode 82 with stuffing from The Bravery, Bottle Rockets, Jason and the Scorchers, Tommy Womack,  Porter Wagoner, Marty Stuart, Chatham C. Line, Russ Barenberg, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Weedeater, The Comas, Chris Cornell and Jake Shimabukuro, who is performing at the Nashville Symphony World Music Festival.

Speaking of the Nashville Symphony...the symphony will present its first-ever world music festival (sponsored by the Scene) June 6-8 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.   The three-day festival, sponsored by Target, will focus on music of the Americas and includes evening performances by Latino country singer Rick Trevino, ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro and Brazilian jazz pianist Sergio Mendes and his band. (The Nashville Symphony will not perform at this festival).

Need Help?

The Scenecast is in MPEG-4 format to take advantage of chapter and image technology that .m4a files support. Microsoft's Windows Media Player doesn't support these files by default, though users can download and install Windows Media Player additions so that it will.

As an alternative to updating Windows Media Player, a .mp3 version of the Scenecast is available above. And, of course, Apple's iTunes supports .m4a files for both Windows and Macintosh platforms.

You may also subscribe to the Scenecast and have iTunes download it for you automatically whenever the latest episode is available. To subscribe, launch iTunes and follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click (Control-click on a Mac) on the RSS/XML link above and then click Copy Shortcut (Internet Explorer) or Copy Link Location (Firefox) on the menu.
  2. Launch iTunes.
  3. On the Advanced menu, click Subscribe to podcast.
  4. Paste (CTRL-V on Windows, Command-V on a Mac) the link you copied in Step 1 into the URL field.
  5. iTunes will download the latest episode of Scenecast into the Podcasts group of your iTunes library. You can modify how often iTunes checks for updates, how long it keeps old episodes, and more by choosing Preferences under the Edit menu and then clicking the Podcasts tab.
