Episode 41

In the 1980s, Cosby ruled the airwaves and Reagan won the Cold War. Nashville had its share of patterned sweaters and Republicans, but this week the Scenecast brings you, fearless reader, the best in '80s
Nashville music created outside the gates of Music Row. To complement this week's cover story, Host Collin Wade Monk takes a big shovel and digs up the day-glo and leather jacket remains of undead treasures from The White Animals, The Questionnaires, Will and The Bushmen, Bill Lloyd, Government Cheese, The Shakers, The Young Nashvillians, Raging Fire, Cloverbottom, Practical Stylists, Jet Black Factory, In Pursuit, The Dusters, Walk The West, The Enemy, Webb Wilder, and Jason & The Scorchers. Special thanks to Tom Wood and Rev. Keith A Gordon for help with this week's Scenecast....

Spread The Love.

The Scenecast is in MPEG-4 format to take advantage of chapter and image technology that .m4a files support. Microsoft's Windows Media Player doesn't support these files by default, though users can download and install Windows Media Player additions so that it will.

As an alternative to updating Windows Media Player, a .mp3 version of the Scenecast is available above. And, of course, Apple's iTunes supports .m4a files for both Windows and Macintosh platforms.

You may also subscribe to the Scenecast and have iTunes download it for you automatically whenever the latest episode is available. To subscribe, launch iTunes and follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click (Control-click on a Mac) on the RSS/XML link above and then click Copy Shortcut (Internet Explorer) or Copy Link Location (Firefox) on the menu.
  2. Launch iTunes.
  3. On the Advanced menu, click Subscribe to podcast.
  4. Paste (CTRL-V on Windows, Command-V on a Mac) the link you copied in Step 1 into the URL field.
  5. iTunes will download the latest episode of Scenecast into the Podcasts group of your iTunes library. You can modify how often iTunes checks for updates, how long it keeps old episodes, and more by choosing Preferences under the Edit menu and then clicking the Podcasts tab.
