Nite Nite CD Release feat. The Worsties & DJ Ichabod at The End

Nite Nite’s debut LP How to Touch the Moon is essentially a 38-minute homage to early-’80s post-punk, goth and New-Wave influences ranging from The Cure to Bauhaus, The Birthday Party, early U2, Siouxsie and the Banshees and the like. Granted, there ain’t a whole lot of range there, but this nocturnal Nashville ensemble seem pretty content to wallow in the midst of gloomy aesthetics courtesy of reverb-drenched guitars, a bass line or two borrowed from Peter Hook, primal rhythms and telescopic vocals with synthesizers asunder. Like any band singularly influenced by one distinct time period, it’s hard to see where Nite Nite plan on going with this schtick, however, if you’ve exhausted the 4AD, Beggars Banquet, Fiction and Factory Records catalogues and still can’t get enough danceable sad-sappery, then you’re sure to love the shit out of this record.
