Les Paul may have shuffled off this mortal coil last August at the age of 94, but there is certainly no doubt that his name will forever be synonymous with the electric guitar. To celebrate a legacy that really needs no introduction, Gibson is putting on a diverse star-studded tribute at the Ryman—a place of spiritual significance to Les Paul—that will feature performances from his godson Steve Miller, Wynonna Judd, Zakk Wylde, Charlie Daniels, Jennifer Batten, Josh Kelly, Emerson Drive, J.D. Souther, Sarah Partridge, Anna Wilson, Steve Wariner and a “Who let him in here?!” appearance from John Rich. The legendary Les Paul Trio will provide house-band duties. Why Slash will not be on hand is anyone’s guess. In addition to live music, the 90-minute program will also feature personal remembrances, video testimonials and more from famous friends, family and admirers. This event is free.
