What exactly are they putting in the water in Colorado? This is the third dope-as-hell electronic artist to roll down the Rocky Mountains and into Music City in less than a month. Hot on the heels of Pretty Lights and VibeSquad, Big Gigantic is the latest in big-beat space funk from the fly-over section of the country, and it's impressive. Built around saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken, Big Gigantic combines elements of a typical DJ set with a live band, and the results sound like Grover Washington Jr. doing whippits in the TARDIS with Doctor Who—pretty freaking sweet. Missoula, Mo., electro-breaks duo Signal Path headline, and sorely underappreciated locals Corleone open.
