Third Annual Musicians Hall of Fame Inductee CeremonyBy Jewly HightPublished on October 09, 2009 at 3:40amThe Musicians Hall of Fame has only been around for three years, but it especially honorsdeservedly sowhat increasingly seems like an endangered species: the legendary, influential musician whos on every important session in every big studio in town. This years crop of inductees illustrates the staggeringly wide range of directions an American musicians career might take in the rock era. To name a few, Chet Atkins was the architect of a smooth, sophisticated guitar style and country sound that profoundly reshaped how (and by whom) the music was heard; Dick Dale jumpstarted the surf-music craze well before Pulp Fiction; with his fiddling, songs and persona, Charlie Daniels came to embody proud Southern-boy identity; Billy Cox backed Hendrix at his Woodstock watershed; and Toto made studio prowess into the main event. Last year, Keith Richards jammed with The Crickets on stage, so theres no telling who might show up this time. Definitely Steve Wariner and Rascal Flatts.
