He Aint My Brother, Hes HeavyBy Jewly HightPublished on February 10, 2009 at 3:43amTo anyone inside the bluegrass world, Dailey & Vincent are still a fairly new act. But theyre no secret: Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent were already experienced sidemen, and their self-titled debut last year made big waves at the IBMA awards. In case it wasnt clear that the traditional-minded bluegrass duo have the kind of knack for natural, close-harmony singing that usually belongs to brothers like the Monroes and Stanleys, the title of their upcoming album tips their hand: Brothers from Different Mothers. The tracksbluegrass, country and gospel, along with one penned by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (who were also represented on their first album)bear it out too. Their two voices are so sympathetic and evenly matched that its sometimes hard to pick out whos singing what.
