DJ EticutBy Sean MaloneyPublished on October 09, 2008 at 3:41amEticuta.k.a. "Sa-rah-rah"hasn't received a lot of attention despite all the years she has spent supporting Nashville's undergroundorganizing parties, passing out fliers, being a constant supporter of the artists around her. If youve been to a local hip-hop show in the past few years, she probably put a flyer in your hand. Frankly, it's a shame that shes been slept on, since she brings some heavyweight knowledge and remarkable taste to the turntables with a funky futuristic sound on the bleeding edge of contemporary hip-hop. Her tunes are jazzy and raw while maintaining a strong sense of melody and a judicious use of hot-as-hell horn sounds that can be rightly lumped in with legends like J Dilla and DJ Shadow. They call her the Queen of Cashville and shes definitely got the reigning sound.
