If you've become resigned to seeing friends and colleagues bid Nashville farewell for bigger, glitzier, more fashionable cities, here's a reason to prick up your ears: The Ettes have reversed the flow and moved from L.A. to our fair city, bringing with them a brand of sugar crunch garage pop that's narcotics-grade catchy--and will free both your mind and ass. After touring with the Black Keys in the U.K. this summer, The Ettes--whose excellent Shake the Dust came out on The White Stripes former label, Sympathy for the Record Industry--landed by chance in Music City as housesitters and have decided to stay.
