It's Go Time for the former Saturday Night Live golden boy and future heir to Conan O'Brien's Late Night throne. It'll be important for him to actually be, you know, funny come 2009's NBC gig--and the odd MTV award-show hosting stint, film credits such as Taxi and Fever Pitch and 2002's abysmal The Bathroom Wall album aren't going to cut it in terms of prep work. To his credit, Fallon knows it. So, he's been busy honing his chops at Caroline's Comedy Club in New York City, headlining one of the blowout gala shows at July's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and hitting the road like the untested talent he essentially is. Expect plenty of goofy charm, topical insights and possibly a little guitar work thrown in for good measure. Just don't expect--or allow--him to half-ass it for a single minute.
