Second Annual Dragon Boat & River Festival

Local opportunities to participate in traditions that pre-date the late, great J.C. are few and far between—all the more reason to head down to Riverfront Park to enjoy Chinese music, food, art and, most importantly, the Dragon Boat Race itself. Woodbine oddsmaker Jimmy "The Geek" Ridley has declared Nashville Scene team Dragon Ass the hands-down favorite, though doping rumors (something involving a suspicious odor from the patio at Red Door East) have threatened to tarnish a potential victory. We've heard last year's inaugural event was a blast, not to mention that this river fest benefits the Cumberland River Compact and the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association, not some Robitussin-stankin' energy drink.
