Baselines and Grapevies: Nashville RBI Wine Tasting & Fundraiser

By Steve Haruch

RBI might stand for "Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities," but the program is really about giving the opportunity to play ball to kids who might not otherwise get it, no matter what area of the city they call home. Last year, Nashville RBI provided financial assistance through leagues, uniforms and equipment to more than 1,300 Nashville area youth. Voice of the Predators Pete Weber, who happens to be a lifelong baseball fan, will play host at the third annual fundraiser, which will include both a live and silent auction—items include baseballs signed by Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter, and a guitar autographed by Vince Gill—and musical performances by Stonehoney and Jeanne Jolly. Oh, and there'll be some wine, too. Tickets are $60 in advance or $75 at the door and can be purchased by contacting Katie Woodward at kwoodward@vaco.com or (615) 512-4006.
