This musicalization of the Mark Twain classic, featuring the songs by Don Schlitz, one of Nashville's truly legendary tunesmiths, endured a mostly lukewarm reception during its original Broadway engagement in 2001. But since then it's found a home in regional and community theaters, including a generally successful 2004 mounting at Nashville Children's Theatre. Kaine Riggan's Nashville Dinner Theatre again revives the piece, which features a book by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor). Riggan&'s cast includes Michael Detmer in the title role, with cabaret singer and recording artist Kat Bowser on board as Aunt Polly. Others in the cast include Ron Cushman, Kevin Driver, John Michael Weatherly and recent McGavock High School grad Tyler Ashley as Huck Finn.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: July 25. Continues through Aug. 10, 2008
