Just Playing: Catherine Thompson

By Joe Nolan

Published on July 31, 2008 at 3:41am

Leave it to Twist Gallery to throw a new twist into the traditional downtown art crawl: opening two different shows, in separate spaces, on the same night. Local artist Catherine Thompson explores memory, time and the games people play in her new exhibit of multimedia work, Just Playing. Thompson's work will be on display at the gallery's popular Arcade space. Simultaneously, J. Todd Greene will be at 708 Church St., Twist's new Church Street Coffee House satellite. Greene will be displaying a new series of his Paw-Paw Sermons paintings. The original Paw-Paw series completely sold out, establishing Greene as one of the most successful local artists in recent memory. This return to the series is a cause for celebration, for both connoisseurs and collectors.
